Introduction
Established in 1977 as a small tutorial college, today Bosworth is a leading independent boarding school in the UK. Our excellent academic results, established university links and caring and supportive ethos have resulted in an enviable reputation. Teaching at all levels is characterised by enthusiasm and passion and we pride ourselves on being a non-selective school with a proven record, both locally and overseas, for raising students’ aspirations.
Courses
Providing academic programmes for ages 11-19, Bosworth ensures a customised timetable is in place for each and every student. There are very few restrictions on subject combinations at GCSE and A-level and, with average class sizes of eight each student gets the individual attention they require to reach their academic potential. As the school builds on its successful past, it looks forward to the future educating British, European and international students within its culture of achievement.
Accommodation
The school provides an excellent choice of fully supervised residential accommodation and senior houses, ensuring comfort, safety and peace of mind. We have a full time chef and kitchen team offering a varied menu, catering for all dietary needs in the Bosworth Hall Restaurant and Bistro.
School Life
Students are taught in small classes and benefit from the close personal attention provided by a Personal Tutor support system which promotes self-confidence and develops a mature approach to study.
There are daily supervised study periods and regular testing. Bosworth excels in all areas but particularly in the sciences and runs a comprehensive programme for prospective medical students.
Individual support and guidance are given with university applications, helping Bosworth to send students to top British Universities, including Oxbridge. Many leading universities visit the school annually to give presentations to our students.
Students enjoy the benefits of excellent teaching facilities including over fifty classrooms, nine fully equipped science laboratories, art studio, study halls, exam room, meeting rooms and student communal areas.
Location
Northampton is an excellent choice for students, being centrally located between Oxford and Cambridge and only one hour away from London, by road or train. The town boasts many modern facilities, including excellent shopping centres, multi-screen cinemas, swimming pools, gymnasiums, international restaurants and sports and leisure facilities.
Recreation, Leisure and Entertainment
Bosworth Hall is a five minute walk away from the main teaching centre and overlooks large and beautiful parklands. Facilities include: restaurant and bistro, games rooms with table tennis, pool, television rooms with satellite T.V, music room and student coffee lounge.
The school hires out a local sports centre several evenings a week for students to play sports such as Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton and Football. Each term we offer a programme of extracurricular activities and trips both locally and across the UK, activities typically include: trips to the local theatre shows, go-karting, rock climbing or days out to Cambridge, Oxford, London and during half term a trip to Disneyland Paris.
