Introduction to Brooke House

Brooke House College is a family-run, co-educational, international college for students aged 11-19, wishing to undertake their general secondary education within the British curriculum. Programmes include; Key Stage 3 courses for the youngest students and GCSE, followed by our University Foundation Programme and A-level courses with a large range of academic subject choice. Our class sizes are typically small with an average of eight students in a class. All students have a personal academic tutor, who monitors their progress and sets attainment targets using the latest national, normalised baseline testing. The college opened its new science & technology building in January 2020, which is now the hub of all science and ICT/Computing teaching.

Intensive English and pre-sessional programmes with UKVI IELTS preparation classes support international learners in their university destinations. Taster programmes can be arranged by request. There are currently around 270 students from over 58 different countries.

See www.Brookehousecollege.co.uk  for further details.

The Football Academy

Brooke House College also has a Football Academy, giving students the option to develop their sporting interest alongside their academic achievements. Students take part in competitive fixtures and are given the opportunity to train with professional English clubs. 2019 saw the introduction of girls in to the academy, joining the boys after eleven very successful years as an all-male programme. In 2019, the college won national titles at U16 with ESFA and ISFA cup competitions, retaining the ISFA title in 2020. The college also saw its largest number of players (13) ever in a single year signing professional terms with clubs throughout Europe and the UK in 2019.

Residential

All boarding houses offer age appropriate accommodation, comfortably equipped with a wide range of facilities. Students may stay at the College over the exeat weekends and during half term, and this is provided at no extra charge. Each house has a residential tutor who oversees the personal development of their students. Over the past year, growth in numbers has seen the college investing heavily in new boarding accommodation. London House, a 50 pupil U18 supervised unit of accommodation came online in Sept. 2019, whilst another 50 unit of supervised U18 accommodation was opened in Jan. 2020, after the college bought the former ‘Angel Hotel’, an historic coaching inn, famous in the upper high street of the town.

There are numerous co-curricular activity clubs, both sporting and creative, and the College offers students the opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme.

Location

Brooke House College is situated in the small, traditional English town of Market Harborough in Leicestershire. The town lies 55 minutes north of London by train, and is 1.5 hours from London Heathrow airport by car.
